New Scholarship and Bursary
The Nelson Scholarship and Webb Bursary
In memory of Mr and Mrs Nelson and Mr and Mrs Webb, who owned the school previously, it has been decided to award a scholarship and a bursary to two children entering Year 3. The Scholarship will be awarded to an outside candidate who has the highest overall score in Maths and English assessments which will take place on Saturday 22nd June.
The Bursary will be awarded to the child currently in Year 2 who achieves the highest score in our end of year assessments.
The scholarship covers all the academic fees for Years 3 to 6, but not swimming, milk, fruit or lunches. The bursary will cover half of the total fees, including swimming, milk, fruit and lunches.
Further details can be obtained from school by ringing on 01274543162, or contacting the Headteacher via email: headteacher@netherleighandrossefieldschool.co.uk.

Forms have been sent out from school: places will fill up quickly, so please return your form promptly to obtain places. A deposit of £20 is required.

11th March 2013: Reach for the Stars
Chickens
Recently, we've had an incubator complete with eggs in school: these all hatched into healthy chicks, and I know the children enjoyed seeing (and handling) the chicks. Check back for pictures. The chicks have now gone to a good home, and we will be sent pictures of them as they grow.Football
The boys' team had a wonderful time at Fulneck last Thursday. Sadly, we lost 3-0, but the boys are to be commended for their sportsmanship and positive attitude. Well done, boys. Thanks also to Mr Hussain, who went with Mrs Midgley, and froze on the sidelines.Speaking of football, coaching is after school on a Friday, and costs £10 for three sessions.
Comic Relief
As we all know, tomorrow is Red Nose Day. We've been holding a bun sale this week, and Friday is non-uniform day. Please bring a £1.

Weather Update
A quick reminder about cold weather procedures. We will aim to open school,
whenever possible, provided that it is possible for staff to reach school
without putting their own safety at risk. Parents/carers should make their own
decision based on the safety of the journey. We understand that you may decide
it is not safe to travel. We also understand that road conditions may mean your
child arrives later than the usual time. If the decision is taken to close, we
will inform local radio, text parents and update the website and blog.
